More about NeoGraft®
The NeoGraft® System is a highly innovative, minimally invasive hair restoration system. It is a type of Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE).Essentially, NeoGraft® works by extracting living hair follicles from areas of your head where you have a thick growth of hair. Often, this is at the back of a patient’s head. The extracted hair follicles are then implanted into areas of the head where hair has thinned substantially or where complete baldness has occurred. Over time, the implanted hair follicles adjust to their new location and hair begins to grow from them naturally.
Because NeoGraft® simply moves your hair follicles from an area of your head where they are abundant to an area of your head where they are lacking, you can be confident that they look of the transplant will be natural. After all, the hair that will grow from the follicles is your own, natural hair.
The NeoGraft® System is different from and far superior to other hair restoration systems because it is far less invasive: it does not involve stitches of scalpels as many other techniques do. It causes little-to-no discomfort, while techniques that involve a scalpel tend to cause a good deal of pain and discomfort. The recovery time is far quicker than the recovery time associated with many other hair loss treatments. The hair line you will enjoy after your NeoGraft® treatment will appear natural. The NeoGraft® System does not cause linear scaring as other hair transplant techniques do. In addition, the NeoGraft® techniques allows for flexibility of hair style choice, from short to long, and a significantly shorter procedure time than other comparable techniques. Having considered all of these characteristics, the surgeons at CAPs have concluded that the NeoGraft® system is the best possible technique for use on their patients. The physicians at CAPs are committed to providing their patients with the best possible service and, with this in mind, have chosen to use the NeoGraft® system for all hair loss restoration procedures.
The CAPS Experience
Hair restoration at CAPs always begins with a consultation. We will meet with you to discuss your aesthetic goals and to determine if a hair transplant is the right choice for you. Our hair restoration consultations are always private and noninvasive. You can expect your consultation to take no more than an hour. During the consultation, one of our caring plastic surgeons will examine your hair and scalp to understand the full extent of the hair loss you are experiencing, will ask you some questions about your health, family history, and lifestyle, will explain some of the factors that contribute to hair loss, will provide a treatment plan based on your individual needs, will address any questions or concerns you may have, and will present a cost estimate for your treatment plan.
After the consultation, if it has been determined that a hair transplant is the right course of action to take to remedy your hair loss, we will schedule the procedure. The procedure, thanks for the NeoGraft® system is far quicker and less painful than most other Follicular Unit Extraction hair restoration treatments. In fact, you’ll be able to return to a fully active lifestyle within just a few days. Hair will begin to grow from the implanted follicles and will thicken over time. You should see noticeable results within a few months and full results within a year. If you require more than one transplant, we recommend waiting at least a few months between treatments. This will give the donor area of your head time to heal and will allow you the chance to see how your first transplant is progressing.
Our commitment to our patients never falters and we do everything we can to make your treatment experience as pleasant as possible. With our skilled surgeons and dedicated staff, CAPs patients are always confident that they will receive the best possible care and will see real results.

More about hair loss
If you are considering a hair loss restoration treatment, you may be wondering why you’re experiencing balding or thinning hair at all. The answer to this question varies for each patient, as there are many possible causes of hair loss.
Most people lose between 50 and 100 strands of hair each day, but they also experience equivalent new hair regrowth so that there is never an imbalance between hair loss and hair growth and their hair retains its usual thickness. Some individuals, however, lose more hair than they regrow so that there is an imbalance between hair loss and hair growth. Overtime, this imbalance shows itself through hair thinning or through balding on some areas of the head.
Genetics are the main cause of permanent hair loss. This sort of hereditary balding is referred to as male pattern baldness and female pattern baldness. This type of balding cannot be fully prevented as it is caused by an individual’s genetic makeup. Typically, male and female pattern balding occurs over time and results in a receding hair line, thinning hair or hair miniaturization, and complete baldness in some areas.
Hair loss is not, however, entirely a result of genetics. In fact, medication use, stress, injury, diet, thyroid disorders and hormones can also play a role in hair loss.
Our physicians will help you to determine what may be causing your hair loss during your hair restoration consultation by asking you questions about your family history of baldness, your lifestyle, and your medical history.
Is a hair transplant right for me?
Determining which hair loss restoration treatment is right for you will depend on your individual condition.
If you are just beginning to notice thinning hair, you should take preventative measures to postpone further thinning as much as possible. Topical solutions and treatments such as Rogaine are popular options for individuals who are just starting to experience thinning hair and hoping to prevent further hair loss. In addition to these topical solutions, some individuals opt to take medications that are intended to address hair loss. It should be noted, however, that these medications are not guaranteed to work for everyone and must be prescribed by a physician.
If, on the other hand, you have already experienced significant hair loss or baldness, hair transplantation is the most effective and only permanent treatment option available.
At CAPs, we recommend hair transplantations only for patients who are at least 30 years old. For individuals younger than this age, hair transplantations may require quite a bit of continued care. In addition, before the age of 30 it will be difficult to accurately determine the pattern of baldness that the patient is experiencing.
The doctors at CAPs are also committed to establishing realistic aesthetic goals with hair loss restoration transplants. It will likely be impossible to ever return to the hairline and full growth that you enjoyed as a teenager, but it is very possible to achieve attractive, confidence-boosting results that you can feel good about for years to come.
NeoGraft® is the hair transplant method that the surgeons at CAPs recommend to patients who are deemed to be good fits for a hair transplantation procedure. It is a type of Follicular Unit Extraction procedure. NeoGraft® is suitable for both male and female patients and allows for large areas of transplantation in a single session. NeoGraft® also reduces the need for additional procedures and offers the fastest recovery time of an hair transplantation procedure. In fact, patients should be back to their normal schedules the very day after the procedure and should not need to miss any work or social activities.
What is the Follicular Unit Extraction method?
The Follicular Unit Extraction method is the method of choice of CAP’s skilled plastic surgeons. It is a truly innovative hair transplant option in which individual hair follicles or natural groupings of hair follicles are harvested from a healthy donor site on the patient’s scalp. These follicles are extracted using a precise surgical tool that leaves behind only a tiny round hole. The area from which the hair follicles have been extracted will heal within ten days and there will be no scarring or visible changes to the area.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and there is no need to worry about painful twisting or pulling of any kind during the treatment as it is performed using a handheld device that extracts the hair follicles gently and does not cause any nerve damage or require any stitching. The relatively painless procedure and the lack of scaring are two important reasons why the doctors at CAPs prefer this method to the traditional strip method. The traditional strip method requires the use of a scalpel and leaves behind a scar at the donor site.
Once the surgeon has extracted enough hair follicles from the donor area, the recipient site, where the balding or thinning is located, will be prepped for transplantation. When the area is ready, the harvested follicles will be carefully transplanted. When hair begins to grow from the follicles, the result will be a natural looking head of hair because the hair is natural, its location has simply been altered.
Follicular Unit Extraction is the method of choice for doctors and patients alike because it produces natural results and is extremely efficient. As compared to the traditional strip method, the FUE method allows surgeons to harvest more hairs in less time and allows patients to enjoy real results without worrying about scarring.
